Trees and Undergrowth is the subject of paintings that Vincent van Gogh made in Paris, Saint-Rémy and Auvers, from 1887 through 1890. In Paris, Van Gogh experimented with the Pointillist stippling technique. This woodland scene is a good example. He covered the entire canvas with small dots of paint.
